Abram and Lot’s shepherds began to argue so much about where their livestock should graze that the land simply couldn’t hold them both. Abram decided the best way to keep the peace was for the two families to go their separate ways.
Here is the beautiful part: instead of grabbing the best land for himself, Abram kindly let Lot choose first. He put his nephew ahead of his own comfort.
Use this story to show children that God’s ways are not the world’s ways. We are called to make peace and to put others before ourselves, just as Abram did.
